DEPKA advantages
Reusable
DEPKA cotton plaster is a reusable wall coating: when removed from the surface it was applied to, it doesn't break down and can be applied again to a different surface.

No material goes to waste
Even after it has dried, cotton plaster can be softened with water. This means the coating can be removed from the surface it was applied to and reapplied to a different surface without breaking down or losing its form.
When you want to change your décor or rework a section, this keeps the material out of the bin. The same principle applies to repairs: the piece that is moistened and removed is replaced with the same product.
The general method
- 01
Moisten
Wet the section to be removed and wait for the cotton plaster to soften.
- 02
Remove
Lift the softened coating off the wall with a trowel and collect it in a clean container.
- 03
Reapply
Spread the material onto the new surface with the transparent Depka trowel and leave it to dry.
When it helps
A change of décor
When the layout changes, use the coating on another surface.
A new pattern
No material is wasted when you change a pattern or layout.
Repairs
The removed piece is replaced with the same product, with no colour difference.
Explore →How well the material can be reused may vary with the age and thickness of the coating and the condition of the surface. Ask us before removing and reapplying it.
Frequently asked questions
Can removed cotton plaster be used again?
Yes. DEPKA cotton plaster can be removed from the surface it was applied to and reapplied to a different surface without breaking down.
Do I need to remove the coating for minor damage?
No. Scratches, small knocks and stains don't require removal; the area is moistened with water and smoothed with a trowel. See the repair page for details.
