Why transparent
See the texture as you apply
Cotton plaster isn't applied with a brush or roller like paint; it is spread onto the wall with a trowel. The clear blade of the DEPKA trowel lets you see the surface and texture underneath as you spread, so you can work the coating onto the wall with more control.
The same trowel also comes in handy for repairs once the coating has dried: wet the damaged area with water, wait a little and smooth it again with the trowel.

How to use
Applying cotton plaster with the trowel

Prepare
Add 4 litres of lukewarm water to 1 kg of cotton plaster and mix for 20–25 minutes. Leave it to rest for 20 minutes, then mix again for 5 minutes.

Spread
Spread the mixture onto the wall with the transparent trowel and smooth it out.

Let it dry
Depending on the weather, the coating dries in 12–24 hours.

Repair if needed
Wet the damaged area with water, wait a little and smooth it again with the trowel.

Which trowel is used for cotton plaster?
DEPKA cotton plaster is applied with the transparent DEPKA trowel. For repairs, a flat-based glass or plastic trowel can also be used.
Is the transparent trowel the same as a silk plaster trowel?
They look similar, and clear plastic trowels are also sold as silk plaster or liquid wallpaper trowels. The DEPKA trowel is supplied for applying and repairing DEPKA cotton plaster; if you want a textured wall, we recommend 100% natural cotton plaster.
How much is the trowel?
