How many packs do I need
Enter the width and height of the wall, or the total area. The calculation stays on the safe side by using 1 kg = 3.5 m², and the number of packs is rounded up.

Calculated using 1 kg = 3.5 m². A pack is 2 kg and costs 1,600 TL with free shipping within Türkiye (Türkiye price; please contact us for export orders). On smooth surfaces 1 kg can cover up to 4 m², so you may need slightly less in practice.
Measure the area correctly

Measure the walls
Measure the width and height of each wall in metres and multiply them.

Add them up
Add together the areas of all the walls to be covered, plus the ceiling if needed.

Subtract the openings
Subtract door and window areas from the total. The door and window option in the calculator reduces the area by 12%.

Convert to packs
Divide the area by 3.5, then divide the result by 2 and round up: that is the number of 2 kg packs you need.
Example
Calculation for a 3 × 4 m room
Let's cover all four walls of a 3 × 4 m room with a ceiling height of 2.7 m.
- Perimeter of the walls: (3 + 4) × 2 = 14 m
- Wall area: 14 × 2.7 = 37.8 m²
- After deducting doors and windows: ≈ 33 m²
- Product needed: 33 ÷ 3.5 ≈ 9.4 kg

If you also want to cover the ceiling, add 3 × 4 = 12 m² and recalculate.
What affects coverage
Less product, a cleaner job
How even the surface is
Fill large holes and gaps with gypsum or cement beforehand and you will use less product.
Application thickness
Cotton plaster is applied 1.5–2 mm thick. The thicker the layer, the more product you use.
Repair allowance
After application, set some product aside for any small repairs in the future.

Questions about coverage
How many m² does 1 kg of cotton plaster cover?
1 kg of DEPKA cotton plaster covers 3.5–4 m². For a safe estimate, use 3.5 m².
How many m² does a 2 kg pack cover?
About 7–8 m². Orders are placed by number of packs (2, 4, 6, 8 kg and so on), and a 2 kg pack costs 1,600 TL.
What does it cost per square metre?
The material cost is roughly 200–230 TL per square metre. Because extra layers such as primer, skim coat and paint are usually not needed, the overall cost comes down too. See our cotton plaster prices article for details.
Is the calculation different for ceilings?
No. Work out the ceiling area as width × length and add it to the wall area.
Is the coverage the same as for silk plaster?
No, coverage varies from product to product. DEPKA cotton plaster is not silk plaster, so use DEPKA's own figures for your calculation: 1 kg covers 3.5–4 m².
