DEPKA advantages

Fire resistant

When you choose a wall coating for a home, a school or a hotel, how it behaves in a fire matters. DEPKA cotton plaster was fire tested in a laboratory of TSE, the Turkish Standards Institution.

A tested coating

DEPKA cotton wall plaster was tested at the Building Materials Fire and Acoustics Laboratory of the TSE Testing and Calibration Centre. The tests were carried out in 2018 to two standards:

  • TS EN ISO 11925-2: ignitability test. A flame is applied to the surface and to the edge of the sample for 15 seconds.
  • TS EN 13501-1: classification of construction products by their reaction to fire.

In the ignitability test, the samples did not ignite, the flame did not reach the 150 mm mark and no flaming droplets formed.

Where it matters

Homes and children's rooms

A fire-tested surface for the rooms where families live.

Schools and nurseries

In busy corridors and classrooms.

Hotels, cafés and shops

Decor and safety together in commercial spaces.

No wall coating replaces a building's fire safety measures. For projects such as hotels, schools and public buildings, review the fire regulation requirements with your project lead; you can request the test reports from us.

About fire resistance

Does cotton plaster burn?

In the ignitability test (TS EN ISO 11925-2) carried out in a TSE laboratory, DEPKA cotton plaster did not ignite and produced no flaming droplets. Even so, a building's overall fire safety measures remain essential.

Which standards was it tested to?

The TS EN ISO 11925-2 ignitability test and the TS EN 13501-1 reaction-to-fire classification. The tests were carried out in 2018 at the TSE Building Materials Fire and Acoustics Laboratory.

Can I see the test reports?

Yes. You can view the report pages on our documents and test reports page. For the full report, contact us.
