Fire tests: TS EN 13501-1 and TS EN ISO 11925-2
In January–February 2018, samples of DEPKA cotton plaster were examined under two standards at the TÜRKAK-accredited (Turkish Accreditation Agency) TSE Test and Calibration Centre, Building Materials Fire and Acoustics Laboratory: the TS EN ISO 11925-2 ignitability test and the TS EN 13501-1 reaction-to-fire classification.
According to the results page of the ignitability test, none of the six samples ignited when a flame was applied to the surface and edge for 15 seconds. The flame did not reach the 150 mm mark, the filter paper did not catch fire and no flaming droplets were observed.
As the report itself states, these results apply to the samples under test conditions; on their own, they do not indicate a material's fire risk in real use. We summarise what the standards mean in the questions below.
The fire test images in the document archive are the Turkish and English pages of these test reports. You can read more about this property of the product on our fire resistance page.

Questions about our documents
Does DEPKA cotton plaster burn?
DEPKA cotton plaster underwent the TS EN ISO 11925-2 ignitability test at the TSE laboratory: during the 15-second flame application, no ignition or flaming droplets were observed in the samples. It was also tested under TS EN 13501-1 for reaction-to-fire classification.
Do these documents also apply to silk plaster?
No. The documents relate to samples of DEPKA cotton plaster. DEPKA does not sell silk plaster; it offers cotton plaster as a natural alternative. For another product's documents, please contact its manufacturer.
