Ingredients and storage
DEPKA cotton wall plaster is sold in 2 kg packs. It contains nothing but cotton, natural adhesive and decorative natural stones, and becomes ready to use when the product and water are combined in the right ratio.
It can replace rough plaster, skim coat, satin gypsum, primer and paint. Kept in its sealed packaging in a dry, ventilated place, it retains its properties for a long time.

4 steps
Step-by-step application
- 01
Prepare the surface
Natural surfaces can be coated directly. Wipe off the dust with a damp cloth and let the surface dry. Remove poor-quality paint and wallpaper that dissolve on contact with water; do not apply over wallpaper. On painted surfaces, a silicone-free bonding primer helps; ceiling paint can also be used as a primer. On damaged surfaces, a concrete bonding primer gives a more durable result. To avoid using too much product, fill large holes with gypsum plaster or cement.
- 02
Prepare the product
Measure the area; 1 kg of product covers 3.5–4 m². Empty the product you need into a plastic container and, without adding water, loosen any clumped cotton by hand. Add 4 litres of clean, warm water per 1 kg of product and mix for 20–25 minutes until the cotton has fully absorbed the water. Leave it to rest for at least 20 minutes, then mix for another 5 minutes. Do not mix more than 6 kg at a time.
- 03
Apply to the wall
Spread the paste on the surface with the transparent Depka trowel and smooth it to a thickness of 1.5–2 mm. Until you get the feel of it, you can work in small areas, like pieces of a jigsaw. For mixed colours and patterns, blend the colours while dry, or prepare separate pastes and combine them on the wall.
- 04
Leave to dry
Depending on the weather, the product dries in 12–24 hours. Ventilate the area until it is dry; to speed up drying, you can use a fan placed at a distance. Store any leftover paste in a cool place and use it within 24 hours.
Consistency and amount of water
The right consistency is about as soft as an earlobe. The amount of water needed may vary slightly with the hardness and temperature of the water. Do not add any chemical additive other than water to the mix. The longer you let it rest, the easier it is to apply.
Tips from the pros
Unfinished walls
If you will carry on later, moisten 10–15 cm of the unfinished edge; the join will not show.
Working corners
Finish one corner first; doing the opposite corner a little later gives a neater result.
Trowel marks
If trowel marks show once dry, lightly moisten the surface and smooth them out.

Care and repair
DEPKA cotton plaster needs no special care. When correctly applied, it is guaranteed for up to 10 years in new buildings and 3 years in older ones; it does not wear for many years and its colour does not change.
Minor damage: Moisten a small scratched or soiled area without adding any material, wait a little, then smooth it with the trowel or a flat piece of plastic.
Major damage: Moisten and remove the area, add fresh product and smooth it with a glass or plastic trowel. Once dry, it leaves no colour difference, unlike paint.
We recommend keeping a little dry product in the colour you used for any future repairs.
