How to work out the price of cotton plaster per m²
DEPKA cotton wall plaster is sold in 2 kg packs. A pack costs 1,600 TL, so 1 kg of product works out at 800 TL. You order by the number of packs: 2, 4, 6, 8 kg and so on. These are Türkiye prices; for export orders, please contact us.
1 kg of product covers 3.5–4 m². That gives a material cost per square metre of:
- When 1 kg covers 4 m²: 800 ÷ 4 = 200 TL/m²
- When 1 kg covers 3.5 m²: 800 ÷ 3.5 ≈ 230 TL/m²
In short, the material cost of cotton plaster is roughly 200–230 TL per m². This calculation is for the standard coat thickness; a thicker coat uses more product.

As a guide, 7–8 m² is roughly one feature wall, 28–32 m² the walls of a small room and 35–40 m² the walls of a medium-sized room. Wall area = room perimeter × ceiling height − doors and windows. Amounts are for materials only and do not include labour. Shipping within Türkiye is free.
Example: a 3 × 4 m bedroom
Take a 3 × 4 m room with a ceiling height of 2.6 m.
- Room perimeter: 3 + 4 + 3 + 4 = 14 m
- Wall area: 14 × 2.6 ≈ 36 m²
- Less about 4 m² for one door and one window: 32 m²
32 m² needs 8–9.1 kg of product (32 ÷ 4 = 8; 32 ÷ 3.5 ≈ 9.1). As each pack is 2 kg, you buy 4 or 5 packs, so the material cost is 6,400–8,000 TL. If you would like to cover the ceiling too, add 2 packs (3,200 TL) for its 12 m².

What affects the total cost
Area and thickness
The figures are for the standard 1.5–2 mm coat thickness; a thicker coat uses more product.
Surface condition
Most surfaces need no primer; on painted or damaged surfaces, primer is an extra item.
Labour
You can apply cotton plaster yourself; an applicator's fee varies by region and job.

Savings on paint, primer and gypsum
Comparing the price of cotton plaster per square metre with paint alone can be misleading. In a single coat, cotton plaster can replace rough plaster, finishing plaster, gypsum, satin gypsum, primer, paint and wallpaper. When those layers are no longer needed, material and labour costs fall too.
Because the colour does not fade and damaged areas can be repaired without leaving a mark, you also spend less on repainting every few years. A single transparent DEPKA trowel (960 TL) is all you need for application.
When comparing with silk plaster prices
Prices for textured wall coatings vary with the brand, the ingredients and the pack weight. When comparing products, look beyond the pack price and ask:
- How many m² does 1 kg of product cover?
- What is in it: fibre type, binder, filler?
- Does it need primer, paint or extra additives?
