In short

DEPKA Group sells cotton plaster and the ceramic plaster family. Ceramic plaster is also known as shell plaster and leaf plaster. DEPKA cotton plaster is a registered trademark of Antalya-based DEPKA Group.

Silk plaster is a trade name that different manufacturers use for their textured wall coatings; in Türkiye you will also come across names such as carpet plaster (halı sıva) and living plaster (canlı sıva). DEPKA does not sell products under any of these names. Liquid wallpaper is the broader term for coatings of this kind: DEPKA cotton plaster belongs to that category, but it is made from 100% natural cotton and offers the warm, textured, seamless look that people searching for these names are after.

Cotton plaster

New generation, 100% natural

Cotton plaster takes its name from its main raw material. DEPKA cotton plaster contains cotton, natural adhesive and decorative natural stone; only warm water is added to the mix from the pack.

It is applied to interior walls and ceilings and covers many surfaces, including plaster, gypsum, plasterboard, concrete and wood. It needs no paint or whitewash, helps with thermal and sound insulation and comes in 60 main colours.

Turquoise ceramic plaster granules

Ceramic plaster

A stone look for interiors and facades

Ceramic plaster is made from acrylic resin and crushed ceramic-based granules. It is waterproof, does not fade, shows no joins and gives facades a granite look.

DEPKA offers two options: shell plaster, sold as a set, and leaf-patterned crystal ceramic plaster in 16 colours.

It is the ingredients that matter, not the name. If you are researching a textured coating, compare the type of fibre, the binder and the filler on the product label. We explain how these coatings differ from cotton plaster in detail in our comparison article.

Frequently asked questions

Are cotton plaster and silk plaster the same?

No. That name is used for products from different manufacturers and the ingredients vary by brand; DEPKA does not sell a product under that name. DEPKA cotton plaster is made from cotton, natural adhesive and decorative natural stone, a natural alternative for anyone who wants a textured wall.

Which plasters does DEPKA sell?

DEPKA offers cotton plaster, shell plaster and crystal ceramic plaster. Products sold under names such as carpet plaster or living plaster are not DEPKA products.

Is there a difference between ceramic plaster and shell plaster?

Shell plaster, leaf plaster and granite plaster are different names for the same ceramic-based product family.

Which should I choose for an exterior facade?

Cotton plaster is for interiors. On facades, shell plaster or exterior insulating plaster is used.
